Lynsie's Visit With Santa

I would have sent this out sooner, but really when you see the picture you have to hear the story behind it. Otherwise, the picture is just confusing and maybe sad. Haha!

For at least a month we have really been pumping up Lynsie for Santa Claus. We finally got around to heading to the mall this weekend so she could have her chance to tell Santa what she wants for Christmas. She's been prepped and talking about sitting on Santa's lap for awhile now, but I was still unsure of how it would go when the time came to actually do it.

We got to the mall before Santa had arrived at his chair but luckily only a few minutes. I heard some chatter and saw that Santa was making his way through the mall. I pointed him out to Lynsie and it was like she'd seen a movie star. She was so excited! Haha! She just kept pointing and staring, covering her mouth in awe. It was so funny!

As we waited for our turn to see Santa, she did really well and was pretty patient. It was then our turn and I didn't know what was going to happen. I really hoped I wasn't going to have two years of crying pictures from sitting on Santa's lap. We walked up and she immediately got very shy and put her head down. Santa was good though and started talking to her and I tried to encourage her to go closer. I then asked if she wanted to sit on his lap and he reached out his arms and she went right to him. Yay!! Success! Now he asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she said, "Princesses". Very cute!

Now it came time for the picture, I had high hopes that we'd get a great picture this year with a big smile. Well, something like that happened. The girl taking the pictures asked her to smile and what we got was one of her infamous "fake smiles". She even said "CHEESE" on a couple of them, but a real smile was nowhere to be seen. It was hilarious to say the least and it was all we could get in 3 of 4 pictures. The 4th picture featured Lynsie with her fist in her mouth thanks to the last of her 2 year molars making its way through. Everyone was laughing at her goofy face and you know, it's just classic and something we will be laughing about for years.

She was so darn excited even after leaving Santa's lap but just couldn't give that real smile. In fact, she is STILL talking about it this morning. Pretty much anytime she sees Santa anywhere, we hear about how she sat on his lap.

Now, when you look at this picture remember the above story and know that while it looks like she is sad... she really isn't. She's "smiling"!! HA!

16 Week Check-Up

Today was my 16 week check-up at the Doctor's office. Pretty exciting appointment if I do say so myself!

First, we were finally able to hear the baby's heartbeat. It's in the high 150s... for you superstitious people out there who believe the old wives tales... this would point to the direction that the baby could be a girl. We shall see!

Speaking of finding out boy or girl, I was able to get my 20 week ultrasound set up today. The countdown is officially on for December 7th at 3:30 p.m. I'm adding a countdown ticker to the right side of the blog for all of you who want to keep track. ;o) Look for this ticker below over on the right side of the page. So happy we have less than 30 days till the appointment! Then I can REALLY start planning!

I'll leave you with a funny, but cute picture of John and Lynsie Jean... Haha!

Birthday Extravaganza!

Saturday was Lynsie Jean's 2nd birthday and she partied it up.... well about 1-1/2 hours into the party she did anyway. It took her a little time to warm up to the crowd that was there to celebrate with her, but once she did she didn't want to stop playing. Goofy kid!

Thank you everyone who came out for it, we had such a good time and I hope you did too! I think I'm still on sugar-overload from that fabulous cake. I know many asked who made that cake and it was Chantiell who owns All Around Cakes. Check out her site, she does fabulous work! Very talented!!

Here are a few pictures from Lynsie's day... enjoy!

Man drives through bank - except there's no drive-thru

Sure glad I have direct deposit!! I do have a couple checks to cash, but it doesn't look like I'll be doing that here in the next few days.

Just a Preview....

Here is a preview of the little miss all dressed up for Halloween Costume Day at day care. Everyone, please ONLY refer to this as a "Princess" Ladybug Costume. Otherwise, she is NOT happy with it. HA! We're in a bit of a "Princess" phase right now. Ack! If this had happened prior to me planning a Ladybug party and cake, we would have went in the princess direction but of course this occurred within the past week. HAHA! Little stinker!

A few more pictures to share...

Hey everyone!

Thought I'd do a small update today because I was able to get digital copies of the ultrasound pics today. He even included an extra that I didn't get a printout of. Here it is:

Another Ultrasound... Yay!

10-21 - Updated with clearer pictures!

I had another ultrasound this afternoon. This one is to test for birth defects such as Down syndrome, heart defects, etc. I didn't get this one with Lynsie, but this type of testing is MUCH more accurate then the simple blood test they gave me during that pregnancy. This one can give up to a 95% accuracy rate for down syndrome, which is WAY better and a less chance of a false-positive.

The ultrasound tech was great, I'm actually planning on requesting he do my 20-week ultrasound as well. So personable and nice, it was a fun experience!

It was really neat to see the baby again and just how much its grown since 6 weeks ago! Wow! Actually looks like a baby now! Ha Ha! Still teeny tiny though... they estimate about 6.72 cm long right now.

Here is Baby Angelo #2... it's a profile picture and it looks like we just might have another thumbsucker on our hands. Haha!

Here is the little baby's foot... it's about 1.14 cm long.... teeny tiny!!

And the funnest part of my visit was after they let me run and go to the bathroom. I came out and the tech said, "So, we have a little extra time... do you want to try doing a 3D ultrasound?" Of course I said "YES!!" He didn't know if we would see anything clearly but he gave it a shot. We came out with the following picture which to me pretty much looks like a baby with its hands up in the face. You can see the hands, arms and tummy... I think the umbilical cord too. Pretty cool huh? As we get further along, like the 20 week ultrasound, if we have time he'll do it again and we'll see much more clearly!

Random Photo Post

Here are some recent photos of Lynsie Jean and of course, as promised, a belly picture of me and the new little Baby Angelo. Enjoy!

Lynsie making a goofy face when I asked her to smile for the camera in her cute new dress....
Photobucket

Doesn't she look like she is in pain... little stinker wouldn't give me a decent smile! LOL!
Photobucket

At least she's minus the goofy face!
Photobucket

Looking super cute with piggies in her hair...
Photobucket

Trying a different angle and not asking her to smile but to show me her teeth because that used to mean she would smile with her teeth. Well now she just shows me her actual teeth... "AWWWWWWWWW"

And finally... the belly shot... probably the most boring of all of them! ;o)

Baby #2's First Picture

Well now that I've let the cat officially out of the bag, thought I would post our first ultrasound picture here to share. I know not everyone has seen it yet. This was when I was 8 wks 6 days. I'm now 11 wks 6 days. Belly pictures will be coming soon... I need to remember to get John to take one!!

We are due April 28th, but will probably deliver the week before since it will be a scheduled c-section. Can't complain about that!!
