Lynsie's New Ride

I didn't realize I hadn't posted these pictures here yet. Lynsie has a new ride... talk about first class limo service. Haha! This past weekend John and I decided it was time to take the plunge and buy ourselves bikes and a little trailer for Lynsie to ride in. We've been looking for new forms of cardio beyond just our regular dvd workouts, especially with the beautiful weather we are having in Oregon this summer. It's always nice to have a variety in our cardio workouts too. Here you go, enjoy!!

Oregon DOT demolishes an overpass

This is a pretty cool video of the Highway 22 eastbound overpass in Stayton/Sublimity being demolished not long ago. It's time-lapsed and really picks up the pace after about 30 seconds. Check it out!

White Trash Baby Bash

A couple weeks ago I started following a blog called Confessions of a SAHM (which means Stay at Home Mom for those of you not saavy on that) when a friend of mine wrote a guest blog for her. I've been following the site and had to share her most recent post about a baby shower she had for her best friend. It was a "White Trash Baby Bash" and you have to see the pictures, too hilarious! Check her blog out and enjoy the pictures!!

Confession of the Day: I don't care what you call it, Baby Poo or Diahrrea or Puke... I friggin' LOVE me some guacamole. I really can't have it in the house even because I will just sit and eat it until the bowl is licked clean.

Oregon Coast 2009

Well our exciting adventure to the Oregon Coast is over and we had such a good time. We stayed at the Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast Cottage in Nye Beach. It was so nice, and instead of being in the main house, we were in the small 1940s cottage just behind it. Bonus was we still got breakfast each morning, which was a lifesaver and a good vacation for me. Both mornings we had scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and pancakes. These were yummy, homemade pancakes too. SOOOOO good! Lynsie gobbled them up!

We arrived on Wednesday afternoon, but the weather wasn't too great. Most of the afternoon was spent relaxing in the cottage and child-proofing all the breakables. Haha! I feel like I have a radar when I walk into places and it was going off like crazy, I would have hated for Lynsie to break any of her nice teapots, etc. that were on display. When dinner rolled around on Wednesday, we headed to The Chowder Bowl for dinner. Very yummy chowder, even Mo's die-hard John thought it was good chowder. He, however, only had a cup of chowder with his Mahi-Mahi fish & chips. After dinner, we went down to feed the seagulls the rest of Lynsie's dinner she didn't eat. Haha! She got a kick out of that and how close the birds would come.

On Thursday morning after breakfast we headed to the Oregon Coast Aquarium where Keiko (a.k.a. "Free Willy") used to live. Right now they are featuring a display called "Oddwater," which was pretty cool. They used lots of black lights and had some different looking fish. Lynsie was a bit cranky after not sleeping too well the night before, so it took her awhile to warm up to the fishies. Eventually we did make it to the tidepools and she was able to feel a starfish and a sea anemone. She thought that was pretty darn cool! After we finished up at the aquarium, we headed over to John's beloved Mo's for lunch. They must make the worlds best Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches because I've NEVER seen Lynsie eat so much of her lunch in one sitting. None of it hit the floor. Yay! After we ate, we walked out onto the boardwalk a little and shared some ice cream. Lynsie was pretty wiped out at this point, so we headed back to the cottage for her nap time.

After Lynsie's nap, we headed to the beach... it was windy but the sun was shining. She was pretty excited for the beach, but wasn't so sure about the sand when we first got down there. We put her down in the dry sand and of course it went right into her shoes and she was NOT happy about that. We then moved on to the wet sand and she was a bit happier there. We spent about 45 minutes down there playing in the sand, running from the water, and building a sandcastle. It would have been PERFECT had the darn Oregon Coast wind not been blowing so hard. Guess it can't always go the way we want it to. Haha!

On Friday we got up, had breakfast, lounged around for a bit and headed home. Not a very exciting day, but Lynsie said she missed the cat's and wanted to go home. Haha! :o)

Lots and lots of pictures to share! So many that I had to do it in 2 slideshows! Hee hee!

Our Trip to the Oregon Zoo

Today, the Angleo family set out on an adventure to the Oregon Zoo. We left the house around 8 a.m. and arrived at the zoo close to 9 a.m. Not a bad drive and they weren't busy yet. Perfect!

Lynsie really seemed to enjoy herself, although she wanted to be set free on several occasions. We tried it once and when we were ready to move on... she was not and sat on the ground. Back in the stroller she went. Hee hee! Her favorites included the big apes (when they came out of hiding), the sea lions, and the leopard who she got a nice close-up view of. Here are quite a few pictures of our day at the zoo, enjoy!

Playing with my Camera

Here are some new shots that I took with my camera today while Lynsie was napping. Still working on some of the settings, but I would say I got some pretty good shots! I especially like the zoomed out and then zoomed in shots. The 24x zoom is pretty awesome!

Another Lynsie Jean Photo Extravaganza

I've been playing with my new camera like crazy today, and got some shots of Lynsie. I had to play with the colors on them a bit because I was in manual mode and they turned out pretty dark. Gotta figure out why. My big fun was playing with the focus and making one thing very much in focus and the rest in the background blurry. Fun times (for me anyway!). Here is a slideshow for you to enjoy!

Pretty Flower Friday.... on Sunday!

I totally spaced posting a new flower photo on Friday, probably because it was a bit of a crazy day. Anyway, wanted to share a lovely picture of my Clematis vine that just began blooming this past week. It is just so pretty!!!!

Enjoy!

Taylor Swift is Hardcore

Who knew sweet little Taylor Swift was so hardcore? I guess I'll have to cut off Lynsie from listening to her anymore. HA!

The Project: Fallen Princesses

Came across this today and it is pretty interesting. It is a series of photos taken by Dina Goldstein called "Fallen Princesses". It depicts Disney Princesses in real world settings. Creative and scary at the same time. Check out all the pictures at JPG Magazine: Stories: The Project: Fallen Princesses.

Motivational Monday

I received two Twittered motivational quotes from one of my favorite fitness instructors / motivational speakers today. Chalene Johnson is the creator of Turbo Kick (also known as Turbo Jam) and ChaLEAN Extreme, plus many more programs. For more info on Chalene, visit Powder Blue Productions. Here are two of her quotes that I really loved today:

"Look around you. Then create an environment in which success is the ONLY option." - Chalene Johnson

and

"Challenges are just a part of life. What you focus on will become your reality. Focus on goals, not obstacles. What's your goal?" - Chalene Johnson

I wanted to share those because I think they can fit into our lives whether it's fitness or life in general. Just something to think about. Have a good evening all!

Oldie But Goodie

Here is another good video from probably around January... Enjoy!

Life, etc. Update

Thought I'd give a quick update on life in general.

As I type this, John is doing his first workout of the second phase of P90X. He is working hard with these workouts and I'm impressed and proud he has stuck with it and is actually moving to the next phase. He tells me he has lost 8 lbs so far, which is pretty impressive for only 4 weeks. I can definitely tell he has lost some weight in his face and tummy. We previewed the first workout of the second phase which is Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps and it looks killer! I'm pretty sure he is going to be sore tomorrow... or possibly even by tonight! This video has friggin' one armed pushups!! YIKES!! I was able to do 2 on my knees but that was it. For me that was pretty impressive... thanks Chalene!!

I'm currently in the LEAN phase of ChaLEAN Extreme (my second round of the program) and I'm so strong. I love it!! Really, I have been trying not to stress about my weight and worry about inches lost. During the last phase, which was PUSH, I lost 3.5 inches off of my body but only lost a couple of pounds. Not bad! PUSH is by far my favorite month. I love lifting those heavy weights knowing the results it's bringing me.

Lynsie is growing like a weed and her little baby mullet is filling in as well. Today she let me put a pony in her hair and I couldn't believe how long it's gotten since the first one just about a month ago. Right now she is looking forward to a week long of Papa & Nana time while Tasha and family are on vacation. I know there is alot of fun in store for her which will include the park, swimming, and even Enchanted Forest (which mama will be tagging along for). The for the second week of Tasha & Family's vacation, John and I are taking the time off and spending half of it around the house and the second half will include Lynsie's first visit to the Oregon Coast. Can't wait for that, should be so fun! Cross your fingers that the weather gods are nice to us that week! Haha!

In other news, I finally took the plunge and ordered myself a new digital camera. I am beyond excited for it to arrive, which I'm hoping happens this coming week. It's a Nikon P90 and so awesome! I can't wait to get it, play with it, and of course share some great pictures with all of you!

Well, I'm going to work on getting some videos uploaded so stay tuned and hopefully we'll have even more Lynsie videos to watch!

Lynsie's New Earrings

Guess it's better then real for now... haha!

Giggle Alert!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! I wanted to get online today and post a funny new video we took of Lynsie Jean yesterday. It is so cute, we had to share. This girl LOVES America's Funniest Home Videos. Yesterday John found an old episode on TV and a video of a hamster jumping off of it's cage and into a wall. She thought it was absolutely hilarious! Here you go, enjoy!

Pretty Flower Friday

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a great week. Below is today's edition of Pretty Flower Friday. I actually took this picture last week, oh well! This is a petunia I have planted in a pot with Bacopa. It's so pretty, plus pink is my favorite color.

I'm still patiently awaiting the blooming of my clematis... it's going to be so pretty. We've also got quite a few strawberries that are getting close to being ready to pick. Lynsie has been loving those little treats. We just have to beat the birds to them!

Blast from the Past

Earlier this week, John and I were up in our attic and I went ahead and pulled out my old baby cradle for Lynsie to use for her baby doll. This is circa 1980s and the fabric on the pillow and mattress prove it. Brown checkered with orange and yellow flower type designs. Lynsie wasn't crazy about the fabric and let me know about it. Tough luck kiddo!

Anyway, I figured she'd been loving on her baby and taking care of her baby and even putting her to bed with her at night, so she might be ready for the cradle. I was wrong... she wanted to be that baby sitting in it. LOL! Here are some pictures... I couldn't get her to smile more then 1 time for the camera because she is in a phase of wanting to actually HOLD the camera and would throw a fit everytime I pulled it out. Good times!

The other baby in the cradle:

The one smiling picture I was able to get:
Coming at me for the camera....

Getting mad because Mama wouldn't let her have the camera:
Lynsie took this one... nice composition, eh? Haha!
So for now I think the cradle will go back in the attic once I get the sweet 80s fabric "mattress" cover washed. We'll bring it back out later this year to see if she is more prepared for playing with it. I'm not ready to deal with her trying to surf in it like she was the other day. She just about busted her butt a few times standing up in that thing. HAHA!

Healthy Snack Idea

A few months ago I received a coupon for a free box of these Kashi TLC Cereal bars. I'm not usually one to eat cereal bars but heck, they were free. Wow, these bars were awesome! Very fruity, soft, and healthy! Perfect for me to grab when I needed a quick, easy snack. Heck, even John likes them!!
I was over at Hip2Save and she posted a link to a $1.50 off coupon and I figured I'd share it here with you:

P.S. If you hit the back button on your browser it will print you out another. Two $1.50 off coupons! Score!!

Lynsie Jean's Blanket Dancing

Well I've got a special treat for you hardcore Lynsie Jean fans. I've edited down 12 minutes of Lynsie Jean footage to just about 3 minutes of her dancing on her blankets. It's a favorite past-time of hers and her buddies Taylor & Alex. We put on some Jack's Big Music Show and this is what we got:

Happy Birthday Wishes

Well I'm having a fabulous Birthday... look what they got for me at work, I'm such a lucky girl!

Thanks my friends!!!

Pretty Flower Friday

Thank GOODNESS I took this picture earlier in the week because this petunia does NOT look like this anymore after yesterday's severe thunderstorm / imminent tornado warning. LOL! Yowza!

Anyway, this pot is so pretty and I just had to share:
